Second in command of the OAS Starlight. Courtney Mitchell was born and raised in Australia. Though her family was rather affluent, and vacationed frequently in Fiji, Mitchell's strong sense of duty prompted her to join the Star Force. After the academy, she spent a short time on the Maringa Orbital Station before transferring to the OAS Starlight. As a lieutenant, served briefly as the Starlight's chief of security before being promoted to executive officer near the end of the Corathi War.

Mitchell was very close to her sister, Lauren, and was devastated when Lauren was killed by the Corathi. For a time, Mitchell focused on her work to avoid family, but the quantum phase transition prompted her to seek the companionship of her brother-in-law, Jordan Kimball, and his son, Austin.

Hobbies include gardening, paleontology, yoga, and Wizards' Academy.
